Road Safety Enforcement |
||
|
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to carry out proactive patrols and road safety operations across the area.
Recently, officers have stopped a number of motorists for traffic offences. One incident involved a female driver who was found using a mobile phone whilst driving, was not wearing a seatbelt, and had a child in the rear of the vehicle without the correct child seat/booster seat. Appropriate action was taken.
These laws are in place to protect all road users, particularly children, and offences such as these significantly increase the risk of serious injury in the event of a collision.
We will continue to target dangerous driving behaviours, including the use of mobile phones behind the wheel, failure to wear seatbelts, speeding, and ensuring children are travelling safely and legally.
Please help us keep our roads safe by ensuring you and your passengers are properly restrained before setting off. Road safety is everyone's responsibility.
